ABOUT

Refugees Emancipation e.V:

The Refugees Emancipation Project is a project initiated by asylum seekers. The Project’s goals are to improve the quality of life of Refugees in Germany. Refugees Emancipation conducts linux and computer based courses empowering refugees. The Refugees Emancipation Center (REC) is a concept whereby refugees develop and manage their usage of the internet cafes. The 8 existing centers receive about 450 visitors per day and above 13000 per month. It is free and offers access to long distance education, language courses, audiovisual training.

We are Refugees Emancipation, a self-organized refugee organization. Since 2000, we have been running internet cafés in Berlin and Brandenburg which are managed by asylum seekers themselves. We facilitate the strengthening of computer skills, a general social as well as legal orientation, digital self-empowerment training and homework help. We help refugees get on their feet!

Now we are also represented in Freiland, where the following applies: Everyone is welcome in our open spaces!

Your own program proposals can be discussed and implemented. It is important to us to have a lively discussion culture and to take user perspectives into account in order to ensure the success rates of the programs.

We gladly accept donations of materials such as books, laptops, mice, keyboards, etc. in our Internet cafés.
